Greater Service, Greater Progress

The Xi Rho Sigma Sorors are proud to bring Operation BigBookBag to Smokey Road Middle School, a service initiative designed to provide students with essential school supplies and resources to support their academic success.

Our Approach

This project aligned with our commitment to educational empowerment and community service by ensuring that every student has the tools needed to thrive in the classroom.

At Smokey Road Middle School, this initiative provided backpacks filled with essential school supplies such as notebooks, pens, pencils, folders, rulers, and other classroom necessities. In addition to materials, we aimed to include resources that promote literacy, organization, and student engagement.

Our Impact

Members of the Xi Rho Sigma Alumnae chapter volunteered their time and energy to assist with organizing, packing, and distributing groceries and essential items to local families in need. Volunteers helped with unloading food shipments, sorting perishable and non-perishable items, assembling pantry bags, and greeting families with warmth and encouragement as they received their goods.

The chapter also donated household necessities and hygiene kits to supplement the pantry’s existing supplies. By engaging with individuals and families one-on-one, Sorors helped to create a welcoming environment of dignity and compassion for all who visited the pantry that day.
